Once I clear the jam there is still the matter of where, why and how the ink is leaking. It's too bad because I LOVED the quality of the prints and the convenience of printing from home.Īnyone want some cartridges? Posting on the off chance there is an obvious solution I'm missing. Clearly I'm buying a new printer and I doubt it will be HP. I still have a printer jam and BRAND NEW ink cartridges. There is no way to even get a bit of it with a tool or fingernails. I read the how-to's and watched the video and when I got to the part about turning the printer around to check from the back I got a big surprise - black ink in a big gooey gob underneath the printer!! I am still wiping layers of it off of the desktop, the power cord, every nook and cranny on the entire bottom of the printer and now my hands. Even when I move them out of the way I can't find any moving parts or platen knobs to help ease the paper out. I can see it inside just behind the ink cartridges. I decided to give it a go with all new ink cartridges and I ended up with a paper jam from the photo tray. After replacing ink WAY too often - and getting repeat messages that my genuine HP Photosmart ink cartridges were not the real thing (grrr) - I went back to ordering my prints online at Walgreens and Walmart because I didn't have time to look into the problem. This time, I have tried all the solutions suggested, including trimming the nibs on the black ink cartridge and putting some hot water on the ports, but I am ready to throw in the towel. All the cartridges were low, so I replaced them to no avail. (I could print a document that was saved in dark blue font, but not black). Voila! It worked! For a month! Literally, the other day it worked fine, and then the next day the black again went blank. The black started turning gray and streaked. If problem persists contact HP.' It was printing fine, but then it looked like it was getting low on ink. Nothing worked so I ordered a new printhead. My 7520 is giving me a message that says: 'There is a problem with the printer or ink system. I followed all the remedial steps, up to and including soaking the print head. I have been dealing with this problem for the the past few months - the ink cartridges were all full, but the black ink suddenly stopped printing. I replaced all of the ink cartridges (colors and black) with HP 564s.
